The phrase less is more clearly didn’t apply when Nicola Roberts was getting ready for the Lady GaGa concert last night.
The Girls Aloud singer had covered up her delicate features and fair complexion with heavy make-up as she left her London hotel.
She has her own make-up range Dainty Doll to promote, but it would be unkind to suggest she was trying to show off as many products as possible.
Looking chic in a pistachio-colour belted shirt dress and black peep-toe heels, Nicola’s outfit was overshadowed by her heavy-handed make-up technique.
The 23-year-old singer had covered her youthful looks with lashing of mascara, eye-shadow, blusher and dark red lipstick.
Perhaps Nicola’s dramatic make-up was in honour of Lady GaGa, who is known for wearing lashings of cosmetics.
Nicola spent several hours at the O2 Brixton Academy in south London watching the American singer perform, before returning to her Mayfair hotel.
Notably absent was Nicola’s boyfriend Charlie Fennell – who perhaps doesn’t share the same music tastes as his singer girlfriend.
Nicola launched Dainty Doll, a make-up range of women with pale complexions, last year.
The range of foundations, lipstick, blush and eyeshadow are available on ASOS.com and are sold between £6 to £11.75.
But as Girl Aloud are currently beginning their one year hiatus, Nicola is hoping to expand the range of products and is hoping to sell it in stores next year.
A friend of the singer said: ‘Nicola will concentrate on branching out with Dainty Doll – it’s already available online and doing really well, but the plan is to get it on the high street by early next year.’
