Happy 7th Anniversary to Girls Aloud! Girls Aloud formed 7 years ago today on Popstars: The Rivals. We watched Nicola Roberts get second place to join the band. From then on, the band have come out on top. Nicola has had a great success with her pale make-up ‘Dainty Doll’, that shes expanding her range and we cant wait to see what she has coming up in the coming months.

As the world and its granny goes batty for the Twilight saga, Girls Alouder Nicola Roberts jumps on the goth wagon. Nicola Roberts is releasing a “vampire” make-up range for pale skin. Making the most of her break from the band the flame-haired English rose, 25, is finally cashing in on her powdery white pallor and adding the Twilight effect to her range of beauty products. After years of feeling like the odd one out in the band – the only porcelain white face in that sea of girly perma-tans – the sultry singer can now glow brighter than white with pride. Because it’s no longer about bronzing up – it’s all about vamping it up. Due to the mammoth success of New Moon and slightly more porntastic True Blood, vampires are in. The result is that all the celebs worth their salt have been flaunting deathly pale complexions. “For years I felt like the ugly one in Girls Aloud,” says Nicola. “I was tall, skinny, with red hair and the whitest skin you’ve ever seen – standing next to four of the most gorgeous girls in Britain. They are Girls Aloud‘s two most regular party girls and last night Nicola Roberts and Sarah Harding put on a dazzling double act Sarah brightened up the evening in a below-the-knee gold and black sequinned dress, while Nicola went for old-fashioned glamour in a full-length emerald gown for the event at The Dorchester Hotel in Mayfair, London. Nicola, 24, towered in bright red heels, looking sophisticated at the star-studded event in aid of the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Last week Sarah told Jonathan Ross she and her bandmates were taking a break from one another’s company, as well as the band. Girls Aloud was created through ITV talent show Popstars: The Rivals in 2002 and has become one of the most successful British pop groups of the decade. The boyband, One True Voice, filled those boots while Girls Aloud struck oil with Sound of the Underground, the first of 20 consecutive top 10 hits spanning seven years that have also seen the Brit-winning five-piece release five platinum albums’ worth of boundary-busting, 21st-century pop music, from Love Machine to Biology to Something Kinda Ooooh. So you might think it wasn’t a bad decade in which to be a Girl Aloud. But when I speak to Nicola Roberts she seems unimpressed… What will this decade will be remembered for? It’s odd. Girls Aloud star Nicola Roberts is following in the footsteps of bandmate Cheryl Cole by landing her own TV show. But unlike Chezza’s light entertainment fodder, Nic’s new programme will be ultra-serious. She is shedding light on the dangerous world of “tanorexics” – women who are addicted to tanning products. The term – coined from anorexia – applies to sufferers who constantly think they look too pale. Nicola, who battled the condition it in the past, will lift the lid on the issue in a BBC3 film. The star, 24, has previously admitted: “I tried to cover up my insecurities by turning into a big-time tanorexic. “I had every product from every range. Ginger style goddess Nicola Roberts has slammed “celebrity fashion designers” like Lily Allen, 24, and Peaches Geldof, 20, saying she would be more creative if she had her own range. The fiery fashion minx, 24, told us: “It’s something I would love to delve into, but I would have to be hands-on. “As long as I was being creative and people were saying ‘This is actually good’. “It’s something I’m interested in but I wouldn’t necessarily do a celebrity range, I’m not really about that.” Mayfair hotel candids 16th & 17th Nov
