Girls Aloud star Nicola Roberts joins the News of the World’s award-winning campaign against bullying in a special episode of telly hit Britain’s Next Top Model.

The singer will appear tomorrow night as mentor and judge as the normally glam models Delita, Tiffany and Joy – all victims of bullies – pose in grim settings for a poster campaign against cruel tormentors. Help group Beatbullying will use the photos in their battle to support young victims.

Nicola, who’s been abused in the past for her ginger hair and fair skin, said: “I think that the photographs will really help thousands of young people in the UK that are being bullied.”

Nicola Roberts is following in her band mate Cheryl Cole’s footsteps as she takes a judging spot on Britain’s Next Top Model.

The singer will appear alongside new presenter Elle Macpherson on the panel in episode four, which airs exclusively on LIVING on Monday 26th July at 9pm.

Nicola joins the series to mentor the modelling hopefuls through a photo shoot for children’s charity Beatbullying, having talked openly about her own experiences of being bullied in the past. The contestants are briefed to participate in a demanding shoot demonstrating the effects bullying can have. Nicola then sits on the panel to determine which contestant will leave the competition.

Nicola tells the contestants “The most important thing is that you’re able to put as much emotion into your photograph as possible, because I think that the photographs will really help thousands of young people in the UK.”

Nicola is no stranger to the reality process having risen to fame winning a place in Girls Aloud on Popstars: The Rivals in 2002. Since then she has launched her own cosmetics line.
