Nicola vs Matt (from Busted)

In 2003, a member of Busted (Matt) called Nicola a “rude ginger bitch”, because apparantly she ignored him. Nicola retaliated by wearing a mini skirt with the words “I’m a rude ginger bitch – botherd?!” written on the back, at a G.A.Y gig. It was tongue in cheek, and she said that she hadn’t realised Matt had said hello to her.

Nicola vs Chris Moyles

The feud started way back in 2002, when the DJ declared that he ‘fancied all of them, apart from the ginger one.’ He has also called Nicola “horsey chops”.

August 2008 saw the feud reunite, after a comment was made by his producer Rachel Jones. She thought that Roberts was the most striking member of Girls Aloud, and Moyles replied: “Nicola is not the most striking one out of Girls Aloud, unless by striking, you mean ginger.” He also said: “It’s nothing to do with her hair or the way her face or body is, it’s that the sour-faced old cow never smiles – ever.”

Nicola responded to his attacks, saying: “I can’t stand him. It’s no surprise I look miserable with him on my case.” She then went on to say: “And he’s such a good-looking bloke himself, isn’t he?”

Chris made a tongue in cheek apology on his radio show the following day, which didnt go down too well. “Nicola, I’m sorry if I’ve caused you upset, distress or grief with words that I’ve used to describe you,’ he says. ‘I’m sorry for the negative comments aimed at you. I do still stand by the fact that, every time I’ve met you, you have been mardy toward me. But maybe I took it too far. ‘I hope we can one day be civil with each other. I genuinely wish you nothing but happiness and success in both your work and personal life.’

But then to finish he adds: ‘Cheryl… Now if that Geordie witch wants to come and have a fight, let’s go! Ding dong! Round 2!’ , though he was quick to point out he was joking.

In September 2008 Heat magazine interview, Nicola said “Enough’s enough, Chris. Shut the f**k up. This argument doesn’t bother me any more. I’ve grown out of it, it’s six years old. His obsession with me needs to stop. I don’t care what he says about me, but what bothers me is that there are loads of people being bullied for the way they look or act, they are made to feel shit about themselves because they don’t conform to how society wants them to be. I have bright red hair, pale skin and, yeah, I can be quite shy, but that doesn’t mean I’m rude or miserable. I’m growing up, I’m learning and I’m slowly becoming more confident.”
