Developing a unique style is a tricky feat for any female celebrity.

And Girls Aloud singer Nicola Roberts has particularly struggled to forge a fashion identity – constantly being compared with her glamorous tanned bandmates.

So the 23-year-old must have thought she had found the easy option when she pulled this outfit out her closet last night.

Her entire look – Mary Jane shoes, iridescent tights, black shorts, white jacket, black handbag, even the umbrella – comes from Chanel.

But her blazing advertisement for the label may not entirely please fashion house bosses.

Luckily for Nicola she carries off the Chanel look with slightly more aplomb, despite the overkill.

She had been visiting the May Fair hotel in London, for which Peaches Geldof is the celebrity ambassador.
