Carphone Warehouse has signed Girls Aloud star Nicola Roberts to promote the Nokia Lumia 800 handset on its social media channels on Wednesday (23 November).
Roberts will spend 800 minutes taking over Carphone Warehouse’s Twitter and Facebook page, publically sharing her entire day, from her whereabouts to her outfits.
Fans will be able to follow her in everything she does from being in studio, to doing media interviews and completing various 800 second challenges using the new Nokia Lumia 800 to upload photos and videos, while tweeting and posting messages.
She will also be sharing exclusive content from her latest video shoot, giving fans a sneak peek behind the scenes of her next single release.
At the end of Nicola’s 800 minutes, Roberts will perform a special secret in-store gig held exclusively for competition winners who’ll have the chance to meet the Girls Aloud star and hear hits from her solo album.
Competitions will be running in press and on Carphone’s Facebook and Twitter pages ahead of 23 November.
Roberts said: ‘Dedicating 800 minutes of my time to celebrate the launch of the new Nokia Lumia 800 is going to be such a fun challenge. On the day I’ll be sharing my every move and interacting with fans on Facebook and Twitter. I’m looking forward to seeing how much I can fit in!’
Graham Stapleton, CCO for Best Buy Europe, added: ‘We are very excited to be working with Nicola to launch this great phone. The Lumia 800 marks the start of new partnership between two of the biggest technology companies in the world – Microsoft and Nokia, and we have every confidence the handset will impress users with its speed, capabilities and design.’
