She used to be the awkward one who stood in the background while her band mates were getting all the publicity but now it’s Nicola Roberts turn to be in the spotlight. And particularly after the Times Beauty magazine singled her out as one of the faces of 2010. She has emerged into a rare beauty; her porcelain skin and her fabulous natural red hair give her a unique look. Nicola has always stood out from the crowd for me and now being recognised as one of the most beautiful women in the world is a fitting reward. Nicola Roberts would probably fit neatly into the latest fashion buzz word ‘pretty’.There are two types, ‘edgy pretty’ and ‘anti-pretty’. Edgy pretty is all about dressing well and looking attractive and stylish. Delicate, floaty, floral chiffons are a key look given a harder edge with bold make-up. Good examples are Lily Allen of course Nicola Then there is ‘anti-pretty’ also described as death head chic – white foundation, minimal blusher, red eye make-up and stark vibrant lipstick. This has been a favourite at all the catwalk shows and will get you noticed. How far would some people go to get their make-up right? The latest beauty procedure is an eyebrow transplant. But at £3,000 I’ll stick with having my brows tinted for the time being. Source: Liverpool Echo Is skinny Nicola Roberts going too far?
Nicola Roberts has come a long way since the early Girls Aloud days of matching denim. The redheaded singer has ditched the fake tan and hair extensions, to step out of the shadow of her older bandmates. But while Nicola has developed her own unique sense of style, she may have gone too far in her attempts to become a fashionista. The 24-year-old had not an ounce of spare flesh on her as she arrived for London Fashion Week last night. Posing for the cameras in her print dress at the Topshop Unique show she looked as skinny as a catwalk model. The previous day Nicola was amongst the audience at the Bodyamr show, wearing stone washed jeans and a red jacket. She recently defended her interest in fashion, saying she wasn’t a ‘fashion victim’. ‘I’m just a girl who loves fashion,’ she said. ‘I’m finding my way, finding my style and whatever anyone thinks I’m enjoying myself. ‘Everything I wear now, I wear because I absolutely love it. I think I look good in it. I feel confident and I’m having fun.’ Nicole Roberts: Is this sexy? No, no, no
Convinced she was ugly, Girls Aloud singer Nicola Roberts used fake tan. Now she’s getting vocal on the danger of sunbeds
Nicola Roberts always felt like the ugly one in Girls Aloud. Partly it was her age – when the group was formed by a reality TV show in 2002, she was only 16 and struggling with the normal insecurities of any teenage girl. Overnight, the red-haired girl from Runcorn was catapulted into the public eye and posing for photo-shoots alongside four preternaturally gorgeous band-mates, including Cheryl Cole. But mostly, Roberts says, she felt ugly because of her pale skin. “I used to do fake tanning because I was told that I didn’t look great,” she explains. “Being brown is something that people find attractive so I thought at least I could make that piece of the jigsaw fit. The newspapers would always refer to the other girls like ’stunning Sarah [Harding]‘ and I never had that prefix. I wanted that, at 16.” Why Nicola Roberts is anti-sunbeds
YOUNGSTERS are risking their health by using sunbeds up to twice a DAY, says Girls Aloud star Nicola Roberts. The pale beauty, now filming a BBC3 documentary called The Truth About Tanning, says teens are in the grips of a deadly epidemic in their bid to be bronzed. MPs will soon vote to outlaw unsupervised booths, and yesterday MP Julie Morgan launched a Private Member’s Bill to ban salon sunbeds for under 18s. Health Secretary Andy Burnham gave the Government’s backing. It follows a Sun campaign – backed by cancer charities and MPs Sian James and Julie Morgan – to ban unsupervised booths. Nicola, 24, backs tighter rules on sunbeds. Here she tells why. Nicola Roberts enters Twilight Zone with pale make-up
As the world and its granny goes batty for the Twilight saga, Girls Alouder Nicola Roberts jumps on the goth wagon. Nicola Roberts is releasing a “vampire” make-up range for pale skin. Making the most of her break from the band the flame-haired English rose, 25, is finally cashing in on her powdery white pallor and adding the Twilight effect to her range of beauty products. After years of feeling like the odd one out in the band – the only porcelain white face in that sea of girly perma-tans – the sultry singer can now glow brighter than white with pride. Because it’s no longer about bronzing up – it’s all about vamping it up. Due to the mammoth success of New Moon and slightly more porntastic True Blood, vampires are in. The result is that all the celebs worth their salt have been flaunting deathly pale complexions. “For years I felt like the ugly one in Girls Aloud,” says Nicola. “I was tall, skinny, with red hair and the whitest skin you’ve ever seen – standing next to four of the most gorgeous girls in Britain. Hopefully I can help a lot of girls out there to look their best.” Source: Daily Star Dainty Doll makeup on sale

They probably wont be at this price for long, so make sure you grab one before they run out. *Update 22nd June* The items are now back to their normal price of £7.75.
