As a tiny size 6, Nicola Roberts has faced criticism for her ultra-slim figure. But the Girls Aloud star has hit back, saying her body shape is completely natural – and not the result of starving herself.
‘Everyone keeps talking about my weight, which I find so ridiculous,’ says the fashionista, who was pictured at several London Fashion Week shows last week.
She told Closer magazine: ‘I’m a size 6 and I’m not ashamed of that – I have a naturally small frame and it’s the way I’ve always been. I’ve not been starving myself or exercising every day.
‘It’s irresponsible for people to obsess over it because I don’t want girls to feel they have to be the same shape.’
Nicola, 24, insists that her pet pugs Ronnie and Reggie are all she needs to keep her in shape. ‘I’ve never been a gym bunny,’ she laughs. ‘Walking the dogs is my only exercise – that’s enough for me.’
